In related news, Jay-Z officially announced his new partnership with production duo StarGate and his project of creating a recording company called StarRoc Music Publishing.

Four Hip-Hop moguls will release their new albums before the year ends, including Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre.
“It’s exciting times and, of course, there’s massive expectation surrounding this new record,” a source told the site. “But the fans need not worry about its quality. Most of the music’s being mastered at the moment. There’s a real belief the album will go stellar.
Jay-Z will throw his heavy weight around and lend support to the Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama. With the support and encouragement of Jay, hopefully this will get more young people to vote.

Jay will be giving two free concerts this weekend to back Obama in the cities of Detroit on Saturday (October 4) followed by another free performance in Miami on Saturday (October 5). The tickets for each of these concerts will be given out at the local Obama campaign offices in those cities.
Just last week, Obama, who admitted a fondness for Jay-Z and Kanye West, expressed his support for Hip-Hop during an interview with MTV Host/Hip-Hop personality Sway, following a presidential rally in Greensboro, North Carolina. He also praised the entrepreneurial mind state that rappers often possess.
“In the past, musicians oftentimes were commodities.” Obama told MTV News. “They were just shuffled around…they did well, but they didn’t have the vision to say, ‘I’m going to build a business. I’m going to build my own studio. I’m going to create my own production operations.’ I think they’re a lot more sophisticated than in the past, and that is a wonderful thing.”

What if one of the biggest stars in the music world launched a new record label and barely anyone noticed? That appears to be the case for Jay-Z’s latest venture, StarRoc, a label pairing the Jigga Man with Norwegian songwriting/production duo Stargate (Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen), the pair who’ve given us everything from Ne-Yo’s “So Sick” to Rihanna’s “Unfaithful” and “Take a Bow” to Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable.”
Rock Nation is financed by the music giant Live Nation through a multiple-rights contract the company signed with Jay-Z this spring for a reported $150 million.

Mtv.co.uk have said that Jay-Z is teaming up with Stargate, Norwegian record producers, to make a new record label called StarRoc.
Stargate have proven successful in the U.S. and in the U.K. They produced and co-wrote Ne-Yo’s smash hit “So Sick” which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rihanna’s song, “Unfaithful” reached #6 on the Hot 100 and was co-written and produced by Stargate. Plus, lest we forget Beyoncé’s single “Irreplaceable“, because they also produced and co-wrote the song, which topped the Hot 100 for ten weeks.
I think Jay-Z getting together with Stargate is a great idea. I cannot wait to see what they’ll do. He’s set to release his eleventh album “Blueprint 3” sometime later this year, making this his last project with Def Jam. He’ll be transitioning over to Live Nation.
